(Editor’s note: Due to the Christmas holiday and printing deadlines, today’s Chronicle-Independent went to press on Friday.) In their first meeting, the Camden boys’ basketball team raced from Lugoff-Elgin for a fairly one-sided 55-40 victory. The next Friday night in Camden, the hosts Bulldogs used a late second quarter surge which led to a 60-55 win over their rivals. Last Thursday, in the final game of the first day of the fourth annual Mid-Carolina Credit Union Holiday Classic, the defending event champion Demons broke through with a 69-59 win over CHS to put themselves in the title game against Crestwood, a 72-58 winner over undermanned North Central, earlier in the day.
