It’s hard to imagine any player in the state having had a better night than Greenville’s Glenn Batson.It might be harder, still, to find a team more discouraged than Camden was on Friday.Batson, a Clemson signee, belted a walk-off three-run home run in the bottom of the seventh to give the host and fifth-ranked Red Raiders a 7-6 win over Camden in Friday’s first round of the District 2 Upper State baseball tournament. Camden falls into the elimination game and travels to Chester tonight for a 7 p.m. game.Camden head coach Denny Beckley said his team had a decision to make when Batson came up in the seventh with runners on first and second with no outs with his team clinging to a two-run lead.“We were not going to walk him and put the winning run on base,” Beckley said. “It was my decision not to put him on.
