Former Lugoff-Elgin and Winthrop University catcher Devin Walker is one of 10 transfers who will join the Francis Marion University baseball team as part of the Patriots’ 2014 recruiting class. He will be eligible to play three seasons for head coach Art Inabinet’s Patriots.The 6-foot-1, 190-pound Walker enters his first year at Francis Marion after having spent the 2013 season playing at Winthrop University. Walker batted .390 for the Eagles, stole 24 bases and drove in 25 runs.While playing at L-E for head coach Randy Stokes, Walker was an All-State and All-Region selection and earned team MVP honors.
