Which offense clicks holds key to L-E at CHS game
EMMONTI PAYNE ... L-E linebacker
Some fans circle this Friday on their calendars. For the coaches, the only circles they have are those around their eyes. The morning after a night which he spent watching films of both his team and rival Camden, Lugoff-Elgin head football coach Scott Jones looked every bit the man who was in need of a nap, if not a solid night’s rest. This game will lead a coach to restless evenings. While tonight’s meeting at Zemp Stadium will not affect either of their team’s chances to play in the post-season for the first time in three years, it does not mean that Jones or CHS head coach Jimmy Neal are not putting in extra hours of preparation to beat their rival. What this game tends to do is to make good friends, which the two coaches are off the field, strangers for this entire week.“The first thing is that Jimmy and I are both friends and, just like anybody else, when you’re going against a friend, it’s very difficult; you want to win,” Jones said of this week and the rivalry.
