Wooden bats make return in tourney

For the first time in many a year, the crack of the bat will replace the pinging of the bat in next week’s Kershaw-Richland Classic Wooden Bat Spring Break Baseball Tournament.The four-day event kicks off on Monday at American Legion Park in Camden with three doubleheaders before Thursday’s final day will be played at Richland Northeast High School with cross-bracket gamess.The Camden portion of the bracket features Olean (N.Y.) High School, coached by former USC pitcher Matt Threehouse, Wilson High, Lugoff-Elgin and Camden.Richland Northeast, Westwood, Dutch Fork and Ridge View round out the field.Here is the three-day schedule for American Legion Park: Monday: 5 p.m. – Lugoff-Elgin vs. Olean; 7:30 p.m. – Camden vs. WilsonTuesday: 5 p.m. – Lugoff-Elgin vs.
