Ardent Sentry participation
STTs Camden
Satellite Transportable Terminals, or STTs, are set up in preparation for Ardent Sentry.
Although hurricane season does not officially begin until June, Camden’s own Charlie Company and the SC National Guard recently underwent training in the event that a large scale storm or other disaster hits our state. From May 16 to 21, the National Guard participated in Ardent Sentry, a major training exercise in South Carolina focused on disaster response and coordination procedures. Ardent Sentry is officially a DSCA mission, or Defense Support to Civil Authorities, and calls for the mobilization and deployment of forces to assist state and local authorities in response to pre-landfall evacuation of coastal areas, provide critical life support, conduct security operations, facilitate recovery, sustain forces, and transition assigned missions to civil authorities, all while sustaining the public trust.
