Being a preacher isn't easy

Many years ago, when I was a fresh-faced, full-of-spit-and-vinegar young reporter, I wrote a story indicating that a local church had hired a new minister. By 8 a.m. the morning of publication, my phone was ringing with indignant members of the church eager for me to know that they didn’t hire ministers, they called them. To a young reporter bent on finding the facts and saving the world, it didn’t seem a big difference.
