Ben Bradlee became editor of The Washington Post the year I was born, 1965. He stepped down when I was 26, in 1991, the year after I moved to the Midlands of South Carolina. When I can dredge up any childhood memory about Watergate, I tend to latch on to the names Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein.
