Cahn: When journalism is dangerous

Wednesday morning, a Roanoke, Va., TV news reporter and her videographer died, murdered -- during a live report -- by a man described as a disgruntled former employee. I have been derisive of TV news, especially locally here in the Midlands in its sometimes callous treatment of Kershaw County, but I would never, ever wish something like this on anyone. The deaths of WDBJ-TV reporter Alison Parker and videographer Adam Ward, only 24 and 27, respectively, is tragic on so many levels.
