I knew when I looked out the office door last Thursday afternoon that the storm was going to cause trouble. The young nutall oak in front of our building and the four 100-foot-tall willow oak trees in City Hall Park adjacent to our public works office are used as my litmus test for storm severity. With the older trees being so tall and exposed, they get the brunt of oncoming winds.
