A couple of months ago in this column you were introduced to Charles Woodmason, the itinerant Anglican minister to the Backcountry of South Carolina prior to the American Revolution. We focused on his disdain for and jealousy of John Chesnut and his mother, Margaret Chesnut of Camden. John moved to Camden around 1762 with his mother, stepfather, and sister.
