You may remember that last month I introduced you to Charles Woodmason, the itinerant Anglican minister to the Backcountry settlements of St. Mark’s Parish in South Carolina. Camden, as the largest established settlement in his territory, became a major focus of activity for him. Not that he approved of much here, except his friendship with Joseph Kershaw, Camden’s founding father and outstanding entrepreneur.
