Like a sequel to a bad horror movie, the "great vampire squid" is back. That was gonzo author Matt Taibbi's description in a 2009 Rolling Stone article of Goldman Sachs, the financial giant that played a central role in the 2008 financial meltdown. The world's most powerful investment bank, he wrote, was a "great vampire squid wrapped around the face of humanity, relentlessly jamming its blood funnel into anything that smells like money."
