Just a couple days ago I was discussing the greatest inventions of mankind with my lunch bunch. Usually we talk about football, so the discussion was a bit weightier than normal. One of my buddies had seen a special on the History Channel in which some historians said the needle, which prehistoric man learned to make from bones, was the greatest invention ever because it allowed people who lived during the Ice Age to sew tight-fitting clothes so they could survive.
