It may not come as a surprise that I have a lot of trees in my yard and those trees bring the birds, big and small. I relish the moments when I’m able to stop for an instant and enjoy a bit of backyard birdwatching. Thousands of birds pass through and live in S.C. In fact, the 2016 Audubon Society’s Great Global Backyard Bird Count revealed the top 10 most frequently reported species included the dark-eyed junco, northern cardinal, mourning dove, downy woodpecker, blue jay, American goldfinch, house finch, tufted titmouse, black-capped chickadee and the American Crow.
