It’s always nice to see our real heroes recognized, especially after something like October’s historic flooding. Tuesday night, as reported on today’s front page, Kershaw County Council recognized two groups: the Lugoff Swift Water Rescue Squad and the county’s own first responders from across various departments. The swift water rescue squad immediately came to the public’s attention following the tragic death of a driver who chose to ignore barriers blocking off a portion of Pine Grove Road near a bridge crossing Twenty-Five Mile Creek.
