Two bright spots for Camden were revealed in Monday’s issue of the Chronicle-Independent, and in an age when bad news seems to dominate -- at least at the national level -- it’s worth spotlighting those things again. First, Christian Community Ministries, which has operated in this area for many years, providing a host of services to people in need, received a truckload of groceries from Food Lion, the result of a grant application from Robin McAlpine, CCM’s food pantry manager. Hoping for a couple boxes of jelly, she ended up seeing a snowball effect when a large truck pulled up to CCM’s headquarters last week with 400 cases of canned goods and 200 cases of dried food items.
