Editorial: Sheheens speech

Monday, State Sen. Vincent Sheheen, of Camden, made what may go down in modern political history as one of the most important and one of the best speeches ever heard from the floor of the S.C. State Senate. Sheheen spoke for 12 and a half minutes about his bill to remove the Confederate battle flag from the State House grounds. Not long after, the S.C. Senate voted overwhelmingly on second reading to -- in Sheheen’s words on Facebook -- “retire” the flag.
