Today is Primary Day -- the official day to vote in either the Democratic or Republican primaries. Here in South Carolina, we have open primaries, meaning any eligible voter can participate in either of those primaries. That’s a good thing, especially for independent voters, since it provides them a voice in nominating candidates from one of the two parties for a slate of offices.
