Today is another election day -- the primary for the special election for the Fifth Congressional District seat vacated when former U.S. Rep. Mick Mulvaney stepped down to become the director of the U.S. Office of Management and Budget for the Trump administration. Some may see it as something of a tempest in a tea pot -- after all, there are 15 candidates running for the chance to run in June for an unexpired congressional term that will last approximately 16 months. Why go through all this just to start the whole process over again a year or so from now?
