Friday, the citizens of Kershaw County, indeed, the citizens of South Carolina, officially received a spectacular gift. That gift is 3,400 acres of prime, pristine land which includes some 14 miles of waterfront along LakeWateree. The tract, now officially named for the late Austin A. Sheheen, Sr., is located directly across from Lake Wateree State Park in Fairfield County.
