Distemper in dogs is preventable

There have been multiple cases of distemper in dogs in North Carolina and South Carolina during the last six months. There has been one confirmed distemper case at the Kershaw County Humane Society and six other highly suspicious cases. The KCHS is an open admission shelter so no animal is turned away, but several steps are being taken to limit the spread of this horrible disease.
