I’ve lived in Elgin for 13 years now, having moved back to S.C. after retiring in Florida. I’ve taken advantage of the county’s recycle center almost since moving here. I’ve seen it, over the years, go from a pretty nice, clean, convenient and available facility to a near disaster (dilapidated bin access platforms, full and closed bins, and broken lot pavement with numerous potholes). Some improvements have now been made and are readily apparent. But a serious gripe I still have is that the property pavement is in very bad condition and is full of potholes. Therefore, it has muddy water puddles galore anytime it rains. If you want to keep your vehicle clean, don’t go there on rainy days.
