A Columbia television station recently ran a story about school classroom supplies being collected at a Hootie and the Blowfish concert at Colonial Life Area. The collection was seeking donations of disinfectant wipes, copy paper, tissues, dry erase markers, and pencils, basic supplies which teachers spend an average of $400 to 600 per year from their own pockets to purchase. (This sum is in addition to the numerous school fundraisers that teachers faithfully support to pay for other educational needs in their schools.)
