In his articulate letter on diversification not being needed at Clemson University (Jan. 21, 2015), Charlie Humphries indicated he is the type of gentleman who would concede to my will to respectfully disagree with him. My view is Clemson’s president is attempting to mitigate the evil spirit put on African-Americans on the soil of South Carolina by many South Carolinian leaders. In my studying the ledger of South Carolina, American and world history, for roughly 250 years, this country relegated an entire race to less than human standards, locking out its members socially, economically and politically even after slavery.
