Letter: Why aren't they listening?

The Beechwood development process which has been ongoing for years proceeded on Tuesday, June 9, when Camden City Council approved the Planning Commission recommendation to rezone the Knights Hill Road property, thereby permitting the development of a 254-unit retirement community. This outcome was very predictable, given coordinated deliberations behind the scene well prior to the supposed open meeting to consider citizen input and then vote. Though it apparent the council had prepared themselves to counter citizen input provided to them before the meeting and in presentations at the meeting.
