The New York City Central Park jogger case involved the assault and rape of a female jogger has stood the test of time. In April 1989, five juvenile males -- four black and one of Hispanic descent -- were tried and convicted for the crime and served their sentences fully. In 2002, their convictions were vacated when a confessed rapist and murderer confessed to committing the crime alone with his DNA confirming his involvement.
