A well known quote:
“Our new Constitution is now established, and has an appearance that promises permanency, but in this world nothing can said to be certain, except death and taxes.”
-- Benjamin Franklin
All of us have tasks to perform to live as citizens in the United States of America, in the state of South Carolina and in Kershaw County. Voting to elect public servants is one of our privileges, and it is time to consider various friends running for office. I wish to share with you an experience my husband and I had. The timing was after my aunt passed away and we were appointed executors of my aunt’s estate. We, of course, wished to assist her while she lived and that included assistance after her death. We found ourselves in the Kershaw County Probate office. We had never closed an estate in Kershaw County. We decided to perform the task ourselves, with guidance from our attorney. We had many questions about the Probate process, more than most I imagine. Each telephone call to Probate, and each visit, was handled efficiently and in a timely manner. We found Harriett Pierce’s judgment to be impeccable. Her staff readily explained the management of details and treated us with respect. What we thought might be a daunting task, turned out to be a surprisingly pleasant process.
Having to face matters in the Probate Court is certain indeed. I just hope your experience will be as pleasant as ours was. That is why Bob and I support Harriett Pierce in the coming election for and hope all citizens will give consideration to voting for her as Probate Judge. Thank you.
