Polk, Gilland quick to help with tending historic site

It has been my distinct pleasure and honor to serve for two years as chairman of the Camden Garden Club’s project to restore and preserve the Joseph Kershaw Gravesite. Members of this hard-working committee have planted, mulched, pruned, weeded, monitored, and dedicated themselves to restoring this historically significant plot of land to the glorious state it deserves, as the final resting place of the founder of Camden, and one of the state’s first patriots. Last week, as the committee was working at the gravesite, it became obvious that assistance from the city was needed with a few tasks beyond the Garden Club’s capabilities.
