Reader urges compassion for Syrian refugees
Placeholder Image
A poem by Emily Dickinson invites us to consider the harsh rhetoric regarding Syrian refugees from various candidates for president and from many Republican members of the House and Senate. These Strangers in a foreign World Protection asked of me-- Befriend them, lest Yourself in Heaven Be found a Refugee-- What do Christians -- evangelicals -- have to say to this? Does not the Gospel require us to “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you”?
