I never failed to get excited after coming home from my travels and seeing the Kershaw County line sign as I’m heading towards home. I have such fond memories of growing up here, being in elementary school in Pine Tree Hill and waiting for the Christmas parade on Broad Street, visiting the Kershaw County Library and being read to by the librarians there, playing tennis at Rectory Square and Hampton Park, swimming, boating and skiing at Lake Wateree, running at Scott Park, eating a burger at BSL or Little Midget or, if you’re old enough to remember, even Hermes. I can go on and on about the wonderful memories I have of growing up in this community... As of recent years though I’m continually disappointed in the actions of some of the people of this community I am so fond of.
