The Post 17 young men of summer

It takes a special young man to give up most of his summer to play baseball, sometimes four to five nights a week, while other kids are at the beach or in the mountains for vacation. This past summer was a special one for Kershaw County baseball as the Post 17 American Legion baseball team and coaches battled their way to finish tied for third in the state in the recently completed South Carolina State Tournament at Riley Park in Sumter with a final 25-8 record. The final of those 33 games was a loss to eventual state champion Florence.
