29 years ago June 10-17, 1990 Japanese businessmen’s visit may help bring in new industry The 21 members of a Japanese organization visiting Kershaw County of Thursday were ‘Favorably impressed” with the area, according to county economic development recruiter Mike Campbell. “No one expected them to say they’d put a plant here today,” Campbell said. “but when their companies think about expansion, they’ll have information (on Kershaw County) at hand.” The Japanese group, Keidanren, toured the local Wateree Textile Plant and exchanged ideas with community leaders and local businessmen Thursday as part of an investment study mission.
