Catfish Stomp offers recipe for weekend fun The 24th annual Elgin Catfish Stomp gets underway today with rides, entertainment, food and other fun-filled events throughout the town this weekend. The Catfish Stomp Beauty Pageant kicked things off last Saturday, when two overall cash awards were given to winners in two age divisions; girls of all ages and boys from birth to 5 years old. County residents eager to sneak a peek at those pageant winners earlier need only check out the annual Stomp parade Saturday at 10 a.m. Overall pageant winners along with floats, classic cars and other parade necessities will trek along the three-quarter-mile route that begins at Green Hill Road and ends at Bowen Street.
