DeKalb Street tree-planting to be getting underway soon The plan to plant a variety of trees along DeKalb Street is officially underway, with plans to cut openings in the sidewalk over the next couple of weeks for tree installation, according to Camden Tree Foundation president Parker Young and project director Sallie Iselin. The project was first formally approved some months ago, when the family of the late Mrs. William F. Buckley announced plans to erect a “living memorial” in her honor. The plan was approved in November by the city and last month by the state Department of Highways and Public Transportation. …About 35 trees will be erected in the downtown area.
