School district to use Lexington County plan for teacher evaluations In order to meet the requirements of the Education Improvement Act, the Kershaw County Board of School Trustees agreed Thursday night to use a teacher evaluation instrument form Lexington County School District 5 for the coming school year. According to Mary Jones, director of instruction, there is not enough time before the beginning of school for Kershaw County to develop an evaluation process which would meet all the requirements of the act. The Education Improvement Act requires ongoing evaluation for provisional (first year) teachers, as well as evaluation of annual contract teachers and continuing contract teachers.
