Unpaid medical bills concern trustees Continually rising bad debts and charity cases at the Kershaw County Memorial Hospital have the board of trustees stumped as to how to clamp down on the costs, which are expected to surpass $1.1 million in 1984-85. Board Chairman Bill Coombs expressed concern at a Monday meeting that the expenses were way out of line with past budget projections, and administrator Lynnwood Young was asked what steps were being taken to improve collections. Young said the hospital had gone as far as to change its billing procedures, working with a collection agency and asking for help from the magistrate’s court.
