Solar heating Utilizing the most basic form of energy The solar age in heating and cooling is dawning as more and more people look to the sun for answers to energy needs in a time of soaring costs for conventional fuels. Although solar technology is still in a developing state and is not yet economically feasible on a wide scale, individual home applications are becoming more evident in conjunction with conservation, better insulation and efficiency. A part of the future is now for W. C. Mattis who is retiring soon from DuPont after 27 years as a chemical engineer and who is building an effectively energy-conserving home in the Gettysburg subdivision of Lugoff.
