Two hard-nosed law enforcement officers have turned the June 12 Republican primary for sheriff into one of the hottest political races in years. Sheriff L.L. “Hector” DeBruhl, a 24-year-incumbent, is seeking a seventh term; he says it will be his last. Debruhl’s campaigning on his record and his family name and he’s relying on his popularity and high profile to win him another four year term.
