The Lafayette Cedar tree in front of the courthouse in downtown Camden has been nominated to the National Register of Historic Trees. Kershaw County Chamber of Commerce and Visxitors Center Executive Director Buddy Clark made the nomination. The aging tree is the last of a doube row of tresss planted to honor the French Marquis de Lafayette upon his visit to Camden in 1825.
