Kershaw County’s first economic development summit started on a high note as officials with Marubeni America Corp. announced plans for a new fabric dyeing and finishing plant located in Lugoff. The new venture, Wateree Dyeing and Finishing Corp., will bring $20 million worth of capital investment and 74 to 80 jobs to Kershaw County. The new plant is expected to be up and running in one year and will put the finishing touches on nylon and polyester fabric produced by Wateree Textiles, which is also owned by Marubeni. ***** Sanders Stoney Post 203 of the American Legion will celebrate its 47th anniversary at 7 p.m. Saturday, June 7 at the post home at U.S. 1 and Cheraw Road.
