Boykin Christmas Parade going whole hog Dec. 8 Quaint as a frog croaking on a frosty winter’s night, organizers say the annual Boykin Christmas Parade will warm your heart and tickle your “innards.” …In the midst of this rural community, home to a grist mill, swimming hole and country stores, a band of “locals” – farmers and hunters – teams up to promote the holiday season with a parade, Boykin style. Tractors sputter, the Collard Queen smiles and Santa waves to the children from atop a combine. “The festivities really begin when the old Swift Creek Church rocks to the sound of old-time gospel music, and the air is filled with the tantalizing aroma of the “Road Kill Cook-off,” says organizers… Women’s Chorale to sing ‘Merry Christmas, Again’ After having become a Yuletide tradition, the Camden Women’s Chorale’s Christmas concert was missing from last season’s roster of events.
