Expansion of Lugoff sewer system is reviewed by council Although Lugoff’s new sewer system has not yet been completed, Kershaw County Council began discussing plans Tuesday for the possible expansion near the Interstate 20 and U.S. 601 interchange. Representatives from the Lugoff Water District and the Columbia engineering company drawing up plans for the new sewer system met with council members at their regular meeting Tuesday to discuss the possibility of using a larger pipeline in the portion of the system running underground along U.S. 601. According to the council’s discussion, there is a possibility the system can be improved significantly before it’s even completed, an improvement that will cost the county less money now than if it’s expanded in the future.
