Brazell’s parental rights resolution defeated, 1-5
On a 1-5 vote Tuesday night, Kershaw County Council rejected a resolution offered by District 1 Councilman Russell Brazell that would “express support for parental rights in the education and upbringing of children.” Brazell was the only council member to vote in favor of his own motion. The rest of council, with the District 3 seat still vacant, voted against.
