The Hobkirk Hill Chapter of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution hosted its annual scholarship luncheon for 90 daughters and their guests at Springdale Hall on March 14. The guest speaker was best-selling author Tara McClary Reeves, who shared the story of Lucy M. Caldwell and her patriotic efforts for wounded soldiers during the Vietnam War.

The scholarship luncheon committee considered every detail, with table centerpieces decorated with “official” U.S. striped military mail in mailboxes, vintage Vietnam postcards, dog tags, and bamboo treat boxes for each guest. The desserts were cherry tart pastries folded into the shape of envelopes.
